Approach

  • Understand

    Meet the team and understand the business. I provided a branding workbook for the team to complete so that I could better understand the company and what makes them tick.

  • Ideation

    I completed a heuristic evaluation of their existing website. I created components, brand assets and mid-fi wireframes. This included improving design patterns, information architecture and design elements.

  • Evaluation

    I completed another heuristic evaluation. This time of preliminary designs created by a consultancy firm for a driver app. I provided feedback on the mockups provided.

  • Presentation

    I presented my work to the client explaining my thought process, research and recommendations.

Branding workbook

I provided a branding workbook for the founders completion so that I could create something that is authentic to them. I learned about their company, people, likes and dislikes.

Website wireframes

  • Landing page

    I developed wireframes highlighting best practices for an improved user experience. For the landing page, I simplified the design including a single call to action to focus the users’ attention.

  • About us

    Updated to reflect the heart of the founders and why this company is so important.

  • Driver application process

    I designed a progress indicator for the driver application process. I updated design elements including input labels (labels were brought outside inputs for readability), checkboxes and toggle buttons (simplifying selection processes).

  • Schedule delivery

    I grouped like information together and simplified unit conversion processes. The designs do not represent final UI, but provide a blueprint for improving user experience.

Driver app heuristic analysis

I provided a heuristic evaluation of the driver app’s mockups.

Feedback included:

  • UI styling including error messages, formatting and map feature

  • Design patterns including carousels and progress indicators

  • Process flows and features

Final thoughts

This company is revolutionizing an industry that hasn’t been touched in over 20 years. Not only are they doing great work in the space, leveraging technology to create solutions that work better for people, they are doing so while remaining humble and kind.
